The Nissan Kicks is back and better than ever for 2025. Sporting a complete redesign, the Nissan Kicks features a larger design, updated styling elements inside and out, plus a more potent engine with an AWD option. This represents a significant upgrade from the outgoing Kicks. Still, the changes don’t stop there, with more ground clearance, Zero Gravity seats in both rows, and the Nissan Maintenance Care Program, which includes free oil changes. With upgrades across the board, you’d expect the MSRP to take a healthy climb, but not this production cycle. The subcompact Nissan SUV remains one of the most affordable SUVs on the market, with MSRPs in the low to mid $20,000 range. The Kicks is a practical option for folks looking to save on their next car, but Nissan didn’t cut corners under the hood, as the Kicks earned the Most Dependable Small SUV award from J.D. Power. We’ll highlight everything you need to know about the new Nissan Kicks below, from the fuel economy to the technology suite. In previous years, the Kicks was equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 122 horsepower. While the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder doesn’t transform the Kicks into something out of Tokyo Drift, it adds 19 horses and helps the Kicks offer better highway acceleration. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) sends power to the front axle unless you equip the Kicks with optional AWD. AWD models feature a Snow mode, while all models offer Normal, Eco, and Sport modes. The 2025 Kicks is one of the more fuel-efficient gas SUVs on the market, getting 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. In the cabin, the Kicks gets 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear row, and up to 60 cubic feet of total cargo space with the rear row folded. If you opt for the AWD model, those figures fall to 23.9 and 50.1 cubic feet, respectively. The Kicks comes in three trim levels:
| Trim Level: | MSRP: |
| 2025 Nissan Kicks S | $21,830 |
| 2025 Nissan Kicks SV | $23,680 |
| 2025 Nissan Kicks SR | $26,180 |
To keep costs down, the Kicks S is a fairly basic SUV, offering a range of driver assistance technologies but fewer amenities. The SV adds a larger infotainment display, wireless smartphone connections, a wireless charger, and proximity unlocking with a smart key. The SR has leatherette seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a remote start function. Learn more about the features in the new Nissan Kicks with Grants Pass Nissan.
While base models come with a 7.0-inch infotainment display, most Kicks models feature a 12.3-inch unit that connects you to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Most models also feature a couple of USB-C ports up front, with the SR adding ports in the rear as well. There are three audio configurations, with four, six, or 10 speakers. The 10-speaker setup features Bose stereo with front headrest speakers. Every Kicks comes standard with a wide range of driver assistance features, including intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.
